The LLF attendees are women, Latinas and men, between the ages of 18 -50+; working professionals and students, mostly from Westchester County, that are interested in new opportunities for themselves and their families.

It was a wonderful evening!
Thursday, April 26, was a special Evening of Literature by Latinas, with three
extraordinary women, and distinguished authors:

Dahlma Llanos Figueroa, Daughters of the Stone
Toni Margarita Plummer, The Bolero of Andi Rowe
Linda Nieves-Powell, Free Style

The authors discussed their literary careers and new books. Book signing and book sales were available after the event.
Food and beverages were included in the admission.
Manhattanville College was co-sponsor of the event held at Reid Castle at Manhattanville College, 2900 Purchase Street, Purchase, NY.

Latina Leadership Forum 2011: Transformation Through Education

Mission Accomplished! Our annual signature event:The Latina Leadership Forum: “TRANSFORMATION THROUGH EDUCATION” on October 14, was a tremendous success!

Attendees said they were “Inspired”, “Motivated”, “Moved to tears of joy”, “Excited about the future in the present moment!” “Education IS the KEY to our future, as a community and as a nation.” “We look forward to 100 Hispanic Women of Westchester’s next event!”

LLF 2011, featured a Luncheon, Speaker Panel with Q & A, Business Expo, Exhibitors, Networking, and Scholarship Awards.

The LLF program is comprised of educational forums designed to inspire and challenge Latinas and women of all ages to maximize their strengths and achieve their leadership potential.

We are also presented Scholarships to Hispanic female students who have shown academic achievement, and financial need, to help fund their goal of a college education. This year’s LLF proved to be exciting, informative and of value to everyone.

The featured Latina speakers shared their personal story and the impact education has had on their lives, careers and families. Attendees of the LLF, 2011 were women and Latinas between the ages of 17 – 50+, working professionals, male and female, as well as high school and college students from Westchester County, and all over the New York Metropolitan area.

We thank everyone that supported and participated in this important event for women and Latinas.

Featuring Renowned, Award Winning and Pulitzer Prize Latina Authors: Esmeralda Santiago and Mirta Ojito

Advanced Ticket Purchase Was Required, due to Limited Seating. Buffet dinner and light beverages were served.

Two extraordinary women and renowned authors, Esmeralda Santiago and Mirta Ojito, discussed their literary careers and new books. The authors provided a reading, question and answer session about their books, and their experience of being an author. Books were also available for sale and signed by the author.

This event was a fundraiser to benefit our Young Latinas Leadership Institute Scholarship program, providing young Latinas with the tools and support to pursue and attain college degrees.
